Back in Ohio, Kiersen was a part of a group called Polished Girlz, where girls go and paint nails for kids with special needs or children in the hospital. The founder of the organization is from Dayton, and her mom helped set us up with shirts and supplies so that we could form a new Polished Girlz chapter here at our orphanage.

Yesterday, we had our first “Polished Girlz Tijuana” event.  Our high schoolers from this orphanage went to serve the children of another orphanage, called Eunime.  The kids who live at Eunime have AIDS/HIV+ and are truly orphans who have been abandoned by their families.  Many of our kids here have been through traumatic experiences in their families, but living at TCM, they have a new family who loves them and cares for them.  They learn, often for the first time, that God loves them and wants to heal their hurts and give them a hope and a future. Now, our teens were able to share the love they have been given with others who are in need of that same love and hope.

Isn’t that how we all are?  We are all orphans in need of adoption by our heavenly Father.  And thanks to the grace and forgiveness and love we receive as God’s children, we are filled with more love and grace to share with those around us!

So proud of our TCM kids. Can’t wait to do this again. They had a great time!

One response to “One “orphan” to another…”

  1. That is totally awesome! What a blessing to get out of our own pain by serving someone else in their suffering. Love it.
