Heidi, the kids, and I are heading back to Tijuana on January 10th. The drive takes a full three days if we go straight through, but we’ve decided to spend one extra day in Phoenix to play in the hotel pool and watch some football before we arrive back at TCM on January 13th, hopefully just in time for a rice, beans, and tortilla dinner. We’ll hit the ground running and get right to work upon our return.

We’re heading back to finish raising the $50,000 for operational expenses and help out wherever else is needed. I’ll jump back-and-forth from Ohio to San Diego frequently and, thankfully, have hired an additional team member in my office beginning in January (she is a fantastic addition, I am so blessed to have Jessica and now Holly as part of the agency team).

If there is a role for our family at the orphanage beyond this trip, we’re certainly open to it. At this point we are taking life one step at a time and trying to live simply and wisely, letting the future take care of itself without stress and worry.

And since we’ll be in Tijuana,
who of you wants to come for a visit?

I can promise you that if you come work with us at the orphanage for a few days, it will be the cheapest, easiest, most simple mission trip you’ll ever have.  First of all, all you have to do is fly into San Diego (no need for an international flight into Tijuana) and we’ll pick you up at the airport. We’ll drive you 40 minutes south, hit the Mexican border, and five minutes later VOILA! we’re at the orphanage. Bring your sleeping bags and we’ll find a nice spot for you and your family to sleep and have some personal space. We’ll feed you three squares a day while you work on a project or hang out and play with the kids.  Heidi and I will even TAKE YOU to the best taco stand in the world, El Russo! (Don’t doubt me) Bring some extra spending money for that (even though it’s pretty cheap).

We’ll drive you back to San Diego to catch your plane or to spend a couple days exploring San Diego, La Jolla Cove, the Zoo, or whatever else you’d like to do. Just make sure you have a US passport so you can get back into the country.

I’m serious.

Who’s coming to visit us and experience life at the orphanage? You’ll create a lifetime of memories!
