The girls’ lunch table, earlier in the week, when they were all still here.

Thursday night, three more girls ran away.  Two of the girls had tried to run away before, and had come back and been given a second chance, but they chose to run away again. The third girl was a total surprise to me, as she had seemed so happy! The staff looked for them that night and the next morning, but did not find them.  We did get a tip that they are ok, but they haven’t returned here yet.

Kiersen was very close to two of the girls, so she took this one pretty hard.  I was pretty sad myself, but to watch your daughter cry her eyes out is awful! We prayed for the girls (and continue to do so). And I pray for my compassionate daughter, who feels the loss of her friends and “big sisters”.

I found out after the fact that the girl who appeared so happy apparently was having a lot of problems which she hid pretty well.  Again, so wish I could have spent more time listening and helping her.

One of the other girls here reminds me often… God is good, all the time.  And she is right.  God is good, and He does offer comfort and peace in the midst of distress.  I am thankful for that comfort for us… and that we can trust Him when things like this happen. It hurts but God is here with me, with Kiersen, and with those girls.  He loves us all so much and I pray the girls realize that, and end up back here or in a safe place with people who love them.
