As mentioned before, one of the reasons we are trying to raise money is that the kids here need more food. Food prices are not that much cheaper here and the amount they have per month to try to feed the kids is not huge. The cooks do an amazing job of stretching it, but still, the kids need MORE and BETTER (HEALTHIER) food. So, God has answered this prayer in a few ways….
First, a short-term help is that the staff decided to put our “rent money” directly into food. It is pretty cool to go to the market and buy as much extra food (fruits, veggies and meat, mostly).
Just for fun, a huge block of Queso! (cheese)
The cook requested fish, as the kids very rarely get that. So we went to this guy and bought $90 worth of fresh fish! We bought tilapia and some other kind. No shark though- he just held this one up for the picture. He just filets the fish right there in his little stand on the street!
We are thankful to be a part of the provision for the kids.
