We had the pleasure of being here for the 50th year anniversary celebration last weekend.  Gabe and I have been coming here for 22 of those years!  It was essentially a huge family reunion!  Lots of alumni came back, some American churches came, and of course everyone who is a part of things now. That added up to over 400 people!  It was so amazing, to think of Martha's faithfulness for all those years, doing the same thing, day in and day out, through problems, challenges, food shortages, lack of money, etc.  Think of the ups and downs of parenting your own kids... and then multiply that times 70-100 kids for 50 years!  Imagine!  Many kids got up and told stories of how Mama Martha had changed their lives... and for every story told on stage, there are countless more.  

She spoke only briefly, and humbly gave thanks to God for everything.  She is an example of the quote, "A long obedience in the same direction".  I am thankful to see her example, and also thankful that she maybe got to see a little of the fruit that her obedience to Jesus has produced. I pray she has many more years of fruitfulness!
